"Women in Charge"

As we all know men seem to be the dominating figure in a wide range of action films, TV shows, and dramas. Most likely the audience will find a male dominating figure-who plays a role of the main character or the lead guy that controls and dominates the scenes with his gender qualities. Recently this dilemma has taken a curve ball and changed the viewers perspective of seeing men as the dominant role.
                Charlies Angel is a show based on three beautifull women that play a role of undercover policewomen who work for a private detective. Starring sexy Farrah Fawcett-Majors, sweet Jaclyn Smith and smart kate Jackson. These three women have their own qualities that make this show a popular hit in this new sequence of women playin the dominating role in the action related films. The viewers are attracted to the beauty and sexiness, that each women play in the Charlies Angel series. For instance, in the beginning of the movie, each women is introduced in their own setting and represened as a attractive figure- which men seem to fantasize in their minds. Their choice of clothing and the way they communicate are the ideas of women showing their feminine side but playing a lead role as the main character of the film. This sequence allows the rating to climb significantly as both men and women are taking a peek into this new concept.
                       According to the latest Nielsen rating figures, 59% of all television sets in use in the US are tuned to them. This kind of audience is usually achieved only by special events like the World series, Superbowl or any big sporting events taking place in our society. Charlies Angel ranks in top of the charts with a wide variety of audience, but mostly with adult viewers. This trend certainly gives us the chance to look into the women's point of views and how we as the audience interpret woman's role as the action figures of the films in our day and age.
              As we progress into the modern day, men and women seem to play main characters in most movies, and the audience is taking account of watching women play the role of action heroes and dominate the movies with their sexiness and attractive outfits. Which shows us that women are beginning more and more involved into achieving these types of qualities.

Disney the top player for kids value and needs

Kids love watching animated films, then they read books based on the films, and finally the characters and the story lines are transformed into toys, school supplies, and everyday products that kids need to get by in their young age. This sequence allows the advertising company to promote products based on Movies and cartoons. We can discuss a wide variety of hit movies that kids love to watch at a very young age, and they fall in love with the characters that are being represented in those films. This allows the companies to produce action figures, school supplies which have pictures of the characters and clothes that have logos or symbols that represent their favorite cartoon characters for such films on television. We have been seeing this pattern going on for decades, since the 1980's when the advertising company for Children expanded and transformed the consumption levels for selling their merchandise to kids.

Tarzan and Lion king were my two favorite films as i was growing up. I've always loved watching movies based on the jungle animals in the wild. Being a young kid I always wanted to buy products that represent characters from these films. I always wanted a book bag that had the lion kings, or animals from the movie Tarzan. Also, i would want school supplies that had pictures of these characters on ever pencil, binder and little thing that we would use in school everyday. It would give me an exciting feeling about carrying products based on my favorite films. 

This being said, If I can fall in love with the films being produced by Disney-which lead me to buy products that represent characters from the films, then ever kid out their feel the same urge to buy such material. Kids don't realize the adult hood of making money by working hard, so they force their parents into buying products that are related to TV shows, films, and cartoon that are being played in front of their eyes. This allows the Children's market to keep expanding and making the dollars in the best of their abilities.  

"Kids overruling parents consumption"

          In our day and age, kids are becoming a major target for the Children's Industry. Companies are finding potentials for selling merchandise for the kids. Such market for kids developed in the 1980's, where cable became an expansion for marketing and publishing products that target the younger generations. By the late 1990's kids started to have purchasing power over their parents, which created a trend for the advertising industries to make huge strides in their companies. The demand for the kids marketing supplies was on the rise and the producers of the kids industries saw a new pattern in the spending levels of families with young kids. This concept created opportunities for the entrepreneurial of the marketing business to become more effect and positive on selling to young kids.

                                                 THE MARKETING OF COOL

The term "cool" has been around for decades, and kids seem to be attracted to products that are cool. For instance, when kids are obligated to attend school everyday, they react to kids that have the latest school supplies,new  clothes, and products that look cool. Then they go home to their parents and demand the COOL items just so they can fit n with the rest of the classmates or friends. Then the parents are forced to buy such new products for their kids, so the kids go to school being happy and satisfied with their needs. This sequence is common, especially for the younger generation. 

Kids are demanding, and parents want the best stuff for their kids just cause they are kids. This idea helps the advertising industry to promote cool products for the kids, which can help create a bigger market for the Children's advertisements.

   

"Girl Next Door"

The term gonzo is defined such as- bizarre, rough, brutal and violent behavior performed by professionals of the porn industry. Gonzo porn is classified as the point of view from the camera man in the scenes. The camera man is right in the middle of the action while the performance is taking place in any setting possible.

                             PORNOGRAPHY AND MASCULINITY

Porn started out as a Playboy mentality, where women would spread their legs, and enjoy the moment as a guy would seduce her with his talents. Now a days all we see on the viral internet is women being abused by enormous objects, human figures and women taking an extra step by stretching out their privates to the maximum limits. These examples can lead to negative thoughts but it seems like the viewers are buying into such violent sexual behavior. Therefore the more bizarre the scenes, the more people want to examine the behavior of such brutal enactments. I will concluded by saying that violent sex sells, and the more the violence the better the ratings. We will have to live with this untill legal actions are taken into consideration.

The porn industry is worth more then 40 billions dollars, and its on the rise for the last couple of decades. If you though that the NFL, NBA, and NHL players were making a wealthy living, then think again my friend. Porn stars are making triple the salary then an average professional athlete.

     Do you respect them for the career choices? Would you bring one of these ladies home for dinner with your family?? What come to mind when you look at these two females?

Manning's quest to a new team..

In the Sports world, as we all prepare for the basketball playoffs to start, the baseball season under way and The Brackets for collage hoops is on full swing. We might be under appreciating the National Football leagues, FREE AGENCY frenzy waiting to start during the off season. The sports media is creating quite a buzz for a start NFL free agent waiting to sign a wealthy contract with the team that shows interest in [ PAYTON MANNING]. After all of last season, Manning was on Injured Reserved[IR]-which disabled him for the entire football season. After the  season came to an end, Indianapolis Colts released manning, which made him a free agent in the Nfl market in 2010. 

That's when the sports media dedicated their time and money on creating the buzz around the league about the possibilities of Manning signing with a new team. Every sports website/ magazines and even newspaper started publicizing Manning's decision on his future. Miami was the first to react with a Billboard display,  honoring a website under his name stating,[MANNING TO MIAMI.com]. This message created quite a BUZZ around the National news, and it makes us believe that Miami is a top runner to host one of the top rated free agent player on the market at his day and age.

Payton Manning is sitting on the driver seat as he explores his options of signing with various teams that show interest in his work ethic. While Manning faces one of the toughest decisions of making a new home, he has to battle the critics that surround him with every moves he makes. The pressure is on, and the sports media wont go down without a fight. The media feeds our society with gossips going around the manning quest on building his career with a new team.

What weighs more on wedding days? (Cash or Love)

      Wedding day is suppose to be an event where two love birds come together and propose to each other in a custom tradition. Its a time when couples honor this day to each other in the most respectable manner- in front of their family and friends. The most important moment is when the bride and groom face each other- say "I do", kiss on the lips and they walk of the stage. Traditions have changed throughout the American culture as we speak at this day and age. The bridal industry has grown tremendously and it has changed the views of couples that plan on getting married at some point in their lives.

     

 The cost of getting married has been growing and the Bridal media is taking long strides into making the big bucks. Now a days you can find magazines, books, newspaper articles, and even go online to get a jump start on your wedding arrangements. If your willing to spend some serious cash, then this it where you go ALL IN on your chips, because the stakes are at its highest. The Bridal media will inspire you into buying- top of the notch products, and you cant say no because its the one and only moment for you to SHINE.

    

               The wedding industry has progressed in our own eyes, and we keep on feeding the advertising industry with loads of cash. The demand for wedding supplies has peaked. Customers are willing to pay any thing, to get the best results for their wedding day. The better the supply, the more demand is requested by the consumers-as they make plans for their big day.

                            

Video Games; Transfers into street violence!!

      Video games have been the most popular pass time for many teenagers and young adults around the nation. Games that are highly focused on violence, shooting and abusing the opposing enemies- are on top of the selling charts. In this day and age, if your not in the service or fighting for your country across the seas, then your might be sitting at home and experiencing the same military life by playing video games that are related to current violence happening across the world. Due to the advance technology, the creators of video games can provide us with real life tactics, team work, and skills needed for us to survive in a hostile environmental such as Afghanistan and Iraq. The game  Call of Duty 4, is a perfect example for the audience to experience war zone situations that our soldiers face on their duty from day to day. This game allows the players to work with one and another to hunt down the enemies in different settings. We as players of the game, have the opportunity to  shoot down the bad guys and earn points to upgrade our personal skill levels. In every mission, the main goal is to kill as many people as we can as a team and earn cash to upgrade our weapons.

What is the real message these gaming industries are sending to the new generation? Are they producing their products just for the publicity and money in their pockets or are they inspiring young adults to behave in such a violent manner?
                                I believe that the gaming industry is sending our generation a wrong message about the current events taking place in our world. By producing such realistic features, that shows us how violent and aggressive men can behave with guns and authority in their hands. These video games can inspire young immature adults to reenact some of their gaming experience in our real life situations. Which can result in a tragic moment for any human being living on this planet.
              My point being- the video gaming industries will keep producing highly profile games that can make them a fortune, while on the other hand it can send a wrong message for our society to act around a civilized environment. By violence, guns, and killing the bad guys to earn RESPECT!!!!!!

Sports Athletes sign endorsements..

              When we watch sports athletes performing on the stage, we think about big muscular human beings who work hard, train everyday and maintain their bodies in the best shapes of their careers in order to perform at a high level. Many athletes are given a gifted talent when hey are born. Some who are not so gifted, have to prove them selves by their work ethic and determination to be the best of the best. 

              This is where the media of our society comes into effect, especially the advertising industry. The advertising industries promote their products into the market by using the naturally gifted talents of athletes in the sports to their advantage. For example, when the star player of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Troy Polamalu signs a deal with the Head and shoulder company. His performance on the field is respected around the world by his athletic performance but his long dreads are the main attraction for the Head and Shoulder industry to promote their product by using Polomalu's style of hair.....

                                                                    

Troy Polomalu makes a fortune in the NFL as a player but now with his endorsements with Head and Shoulder, im sure he is pretty satisfied by his career choice that he made through his life.

               Another example of an athlete who is now signed a deal with the State farm insurace. Arron Rodgers and BJ Rajji, one of his team mates. Arron started to celebrate his touch down dances with a signature move. Which is now Know as the theme for the Discount Double Check for the state farms insurance.

We can conclude that sports athletes are the new figures for the advertising industries to promote their product to the society. The performance of these athletes on the field can be rewarded by the advertising industry in our day and age. These companies use such highly qualified star players for their advantage to sell their new product and promotions. As a society, we can conclude that we as people buy into the medias interpretation of men as athletes in our country.. 

Smell Like A Man

                      Old spice is advertising their products to catch the attention of the men in our society. Their commercials are encouraging these men to purchase and use this products for the benefits of attracting the female species. Surprisingly their tack ticks are increasing the production of Old spice products through out the society. These commercials seem to subvert ideas about masculinity world wide by presenting a variety of muscular men and demonstrating their ability to look good and smell good like a real MAN.......

These commercial below clearly send us the message of MASCULINITY, the catch is that only real men with huge body muscles use this product and when you do use it, you will not only smell good but have the POWER.  Their slogan " SMELL IS POWER", is catching a lot of attention. Mainly for the young guys, who are using the Old SPICE products to boost some confidence for their girlfriends.

                                

Old Spice commercials are entertaining, but what kind of a message are they really trying to convey to the viewer. What if they substitute the muscular man in this commercial with a skinny dude who is a blue collar man in our society. Would they still be able to send the same message or would the people stop buying these products????????????

Missed Opportunities Cost the Ravens from advancing.

          The AFC North was dominated by the Baltimore Ravens throughout the 2011-2012 NFL regular season. They were undefeated at home and swept their division for the first time since 2005. At the end of the regular season, Baltimore finished their season with a respected record of 12-4. Which earned them a number two seed in the playoffs with a first round bye since 2005. 

With the playoffs starting the Baltimore Ravens were sitting pretty right behind the top seeded AFC team, the New England Patriots. Baltimore had to win just two games to reach the Superbowl for the first time in their franchise since 2001. Their first test came against the Houston Texans in the Divisional round-as Houston had advanced from the wild card round after beating the Cincinnati Bengals with a strong running game by their star running back, Arian Foster. He carried the Texans on his shoulder with 3 touchdowns and over 200 rushing yards on the ground.                                             

          The AFC Divisional round was set to take place at the M&T bank stadium, where the Ravens were going to protect their home 
filed against the Houston Texans. The Ravens were  undefeated
at home during the regular season- with Houston coming to town,
the Ravens fans showed their black and purple pride with full 
authority and team spirit. This game came down to the last 
play as Tyler Yates throws a hail marry pass to his receiver with time running out at the corner of the end zone, where Ed reed was waiting to slap the ball away from the receivers hand to end the game. Baltimore earns a victory and sends Houston packing, which sets up the stage for the AFC championship game in New England, Foxboro.  

Oucchh!!!

            As the AFC Championship round was set for The New England Patriots against The Baltimore Ravens, the stakes where at its highest. The winner of this game advances to Indianapolis-home of Super Bowl 46 , while the loser is done for the season. As the players, fans, and the nation gathered to watch the showdown in Foxboro for the AFC title game, everyone was anxious for the outcome of the game.

As the game went on, Both teams were fighting their hearts out for the game. The most anticipating moment came during the last 2 minutes of the fourth Quarter. The Ravens offense was driving the ball down the field for a chance to win or tie the game which would send the game into extra time. With 22 second left in the game Joe Flacoo steps back and throws a deep pass to Lee Evans in the end zone for the game winning touchdown but unfortunately he drops the ball and now Baltimore has no choice but to kick the field goal to tie the game. As Billy Cundiff attempts to kick a filed goal with time running out, he hooks the ball wide left and misses horribly. Cundiffs' missed field goal sends the Patriots to their fifth super bowl under Bill Bilicheck and Tom Brady as his quarterback. Everyone in Baltimore is shell shocked as they absorb the missed opportunities that the Ravens left on the field which could have landed them a ticket to Indianapolis for the big game.

              As New England sets of to play the New York Giants in Indianapolis for Super Bowl 46, the Ravens will be kicking them selves in the head while they lick their wounds at home. They lost the game under the hands of Lee Evans for dropping the Touch down pass and finally with one last hope-Billy Cundiff hooks the ball wide to stop our Ravens' journey to the Super bowl 46.
